Vince
DiLeo, AMS® has been living a double life for as long as he can remember.
Many years he sat in a corporate cube writing about computers on
computers. He took his Masters in Technical Instruction from San
Francisco State University believing it was a good way to support
his passion — boats. When he was not writing, he was sailing or
driving power boats. He studied at the Chapman School of Seamanship
to hone his boating skills and returned to Chapman's to complete
the Yacht & Small Craft Survey program. His continuing education
policy is taking him to The Wooden Boat School in Brooklin, Maine
to study wooden boat survey
techniques. He holds a USCG Mariner Near Coastal license with a
100-ton limit, an ASA Coastal Cruising Certification, and Marine
Radio Operator Permit. He is a member of the Society of Accredited
Marine Surveyors, USCG Auxiliary, American Boat & Yacht Council,
Boat/US Technical Exchange.
Laura Christensen
is an accomplished sailor in her own right. Her years of sailing experience
includes sailing the Florida coast, Intracoastal waterway, California
coast, Monterey and San Francisco Bays as well as the crowded and
unpredictable
wind conditions of Lake Tahoe. She is ASA Coastal Cruising certified.
She understands the working systems of day sailboats as well as cruising
yachts. She is also an experienced researcher. Laura can research
sailboat and other small craft information on demand. In addition
to her yachting skills Laura is a DNA chemist holding degrees in Chemistry
& Molecular Biology from San Francisco State University.
